Richard Gere flies to Amelia
And he’s joining the police for Brooklyn’s Finest…

Hilary Swank just got some company in the air – or at least in Amelia, the biopic of legendary (and doomed) female aviator Amelia Earhart.
The film charts the tough relationship between the pilot and her husband, publisher George Putnam, and Richard Gere has signed on to play him. He’ll report to the set in Toronto later this month.
If that wasn’t enough, he’s also agreed to star alongside Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke in Antoine Fuqua’s new cop drama Brooklyn’s Finest, which sees three of the boys in blue end up at the same dangerous location despite very different career paths. Variety is making a note of the details.
