Given how well Matthew Vaughan is doing with his own directing career, Guy Ritchie really needs to keep up these days.
So he’s back in his gangster comfort zone- hopefully minus the complicated religious twaddle of Revolver – and has corralled a decent cast for RocknRolla.
Man of the hour Gerard Butler (who seems to have been cast in every film to toddle along since 300), Thandie Newton, Tom Wilkinson, Idris Elba and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges have all agreed to join the caper, which has a Russian mobster creating a crooked land deal that attracts all of London’s criminal underworld.
Butler will apparently be playing One Two, a mobster playing both sides of the game, with Wilkinson as a head gangster. Elba is One Two’s partner, Mumbles and Newton is his love interest, Stella.
The movie is shooting right now.
