Romantic comedy wins at the US box office

He’s Just Not That Into You takes the top of the charts

So-called “anti-rom com” He’s Just Not That Into you was top of the US box office this weekend, scoring $27.4 million.

Liam Neeson’s action thriller Taken had to settle for second place this week, nabbing $20.3 million, while incoming stop-motion pic Coraline defied expectations to take third place and $16.3 million.

Fourth place went to the underperforming Pink Panther 2, which could only rustle up $12 million, just ahead of Paul Blart: Mall Cop, which, in its fourth week, made $11 million and nabbed fifth.

Psychic power thriller Push could only find a berth at sixth, taking in just $10.2 million. Still, with a relatively low budget ($38 million), it should make some money.

The top 10 for this weekend:

He’s Just Not That Into You ($27.4 million)
Taken ($20.3 million)
Coraline ($16.3 million)
The Pink Panther 2 ($12 million)
Paul Blart: Mall Cop ($11 million)
Push ($10.204 million)
Gran Torino ($7.5 million)
Slumdog Millionaire ($7.4 million)
The Uninvited ($6.4 million)
Hotel For Dogs ($5.8 million)
