Ron Howard to direct superhero drama 364?

Based on a script by Safe House's David Guggenheim

Ron Howard is in the frame to direct the film 364, based on a script by Safe House writer David Guggenheim.

The movie is set in a world where super powers are dished out for one day a year - the number of the title refers to the days a normal guy spends thinking about what he's going to do with those abilities.

Universal pre-emptively bought the script based on a pitch from Guggenheim.

Guggenheim was previously an editor at US Weekly but quit his job when he sold the script for Safe House, which has just wrapped and stars Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington.

Great twist on the usual superhero story? Or 364 days of boredom waiting to happen? Tell us below!

I don't think that idea sucks at all. If you had any kind of special thing happen on one day a year, be it superpowers or anything else, you'd probably spend the whole rest of the year thinking about it. Could really build up into a great payoff if handled properly. Wouldn't be surprised to see Howard attached now to get the film greenlit only for him to drop out later. Much prefer to see him find a studio for the Dark Tower movie and go with that.
