A remake of The Crow has been troubling the rumour mill for some years now, with the latest whisper being that James McAvoy is eyeing the lead role of the forthcoming revival.
Bloody Disgusting reports that McAvoy is interested in joining the production, helmed by directed F. Javier Gutierrez, although the source doesn't specify whether talks have yet taken place.
The film's troubled gestation began when Mark Wahlberg was offered the lead back when Stephen Norrington was attached to direct in 2010. Needless to say, those plans soon foundered…
The project looked to have been revived in 2011, with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo set to direct, and Bradley Cooper linked to star. However, Fresnadillo soon dropped out and nothing more was heard of the film until Gutierrez came on board early last year.
Since then there's been more silence, but it does at least sound as though things might be moving forward again. However, until the thing actually starts filming, we won't be holding our breath...

Most people are annoyed when their favourite film gets a reboot, and The Crow has already had it's fair share of bad sequels, but remaking the graphic novel/original film almost seems disrespectful to Brandon Lee. His performance was flawless and there's no reason to try again!
