Rumour: Lupita Nyong’o up for an undisclosed Episode VII role?

Star meets with J.J. Abrams

Another day, another Episode VII casting rumour, with Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o the latest name to be linked to the production.

According to THR, the star met with J.J. Abrams to read for a mystery role as recently as a couple of weeks ago, although (as always) details of the part have yet to be disclosed.

The rumour is that the part in question will cast Nyong’o as a distant descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi, although how that will fit in with the general plot is anyone’s guess.

It is also thought that Nyong’o’s role is separate from the existing casting call for two male and female leads in their ‘20s, which seems to have been rumbling on for a while now.

Directed by Abrams, and starring Adam Driver as the villain of the piece, Star Wars: Episode VII will open in the UK on 18 December 2015.

Would Nyong'o be a good addition to the cast? Tell us, below!

No! I wanted her to be a Bond girl. Well I hope she goes against type and plays a Sith.

Never a bad move to court Oscar winners, unless it's Halle Berry.

Is there anyone who isn't being considered for a role in Episode VII.

@moviemind91 Danny Dyer has indeed been considered for the part of Grido's son.

@moviemind91 LOL, only because he's under contract to Eastenders. They won't let him go, ruining his chance, like Magnum P.I did Tom Selleck.
