It’s normal for a studio to be thinking ahead when it has a major franchise on its hands – just look at the way Warners is keeping up the Potter adventures.
But Summit Entertainment only has the first Twilight film – based on Stephenie Myers’ hit tales about a girl and her vampire lover – to hand, and that’s not out until later in the year. But given the huge following of the book series, the company is already busy developing the script for an adaptation of the second book New Moon, according to Shock ‘Till You Drop.
We’d guess a truly solid greenlight might wait until the first movie has its box office mettle really tested, but it looks like Summit is already busy with the script and plans to strike while the iron is hot – without knowing if it will even get lukewarm…
