Rumour: Vin Diesel to voice Groot in Guardians Of The Galaxy?

Posts image of the character on his Facebook page

Vin Diesel is certainly enjoying teasing his current involvement with the Marvel universe, setting tongues wagging by posting an image of Guardians Of The Galaxy character Groot on his Facebook page.

Diesel had previously revealed that he’d been in for a meeting at Marvel, with a view to joining one of the studio’s upcoming projects.

At first, it has been suggested that Diesel could be voicing Thanos in Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron, only for this latest image to arrive, pointing firmly to Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Diesel since removed the picture from his Facebook page, although you can still see the photo in his image history.

Groot is a giant talking tree, whose dialogue is usually restricted to the shouting of his own name. Deadline has since published a report that Diesel is indeed in talks to take the role.

Directed by James Gunn and co-starring Chris Pratt, Glenn Close and Benicio Del Toro, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.

Would Diesel be a good fit for the role? Tell us, below!

Given Vin's voice work history this makes sense. However if Vin is indeed playing Groot then why the fu... didn't they announce this at comic con? both the GOTG cast and Vin were there.
