Sir Ridley of Scott just can’t stop working with Russell Crowe. Not only has the pair recently finished American Gangster and are busy developing Robin Hood reboot Nottingham, but they’re now also considering adding CIA thriller Body Of Lies to their schedule.
Scott is already on board to direct Leonardo DiCaprio in the tale of an idealistic CIA agent who attempts to disrupt a local terrorism cell in Jordan but ends up throwing his life into chaos and damages his relationship with the head of Jordanian intelligence. If he signs on, Crowe will play DiCaprio’s boss, which will see them share the screen for the first time since The Quick And The Dead.
William Monaghan – another regular Scott and DiCaprio collaborator – has adapted David Ignatius’ book for Scott, who wants to try and kick off directing before the end of the year.
