Ryan Gosling is battered in the first poster for Only God Forgives

Hey girl, I might need medical attention

Ryan Gosling's face looks like it has been battered to a pulp in the first promo poster for Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives.

Revealed over at The Film Stage, the OGF poster promises a film of brutal violence, with the Drive director and star reteaming for a Thai boxing drama.

It’s safe to say Gosling will be on the receiving end of some brutal treatment, if the sight of his face on this one-sheet is anything to go by.

It’s a risky marketing move, battering in a face that’s been having cinemagoers swooning over the past few years, but it’s one we reckon will pay off in dividends.

Only God Forgives sees Gosling play a Bangkok-based gangster seeking revenge for the death of his brother, through the medium of Thai boxing. Kristen Scott Thomas is set to bring menace as his mother.

Check out the poster in full below:

Seeing as Drive was our #1 movie of 2011, we’ll be awaiting this one with bated breath.

What do you think of Gosling’s new look? Tell us below!

I'm not going to lie, being a girl (who among the many, also fancies myself a bit of the Gosling) it's going to be a very hard watch. I love a good fight movie so i'm going to be waiting for it with a peculiar excited anticipation. I hope he doesn't look too muffed up. I'm going to have to get the tissues and the first aid box out

If this carries the same visual (dream-like) style of Drive, then count me in.

@Gashead I agree, the visuals and soundtrack in Drive were so cool, truly a lush film

@sammyroberts88 - I wonder if "Ryan Gosling gets Muffed Up" might be a different film...lol. (just in case, "muff" is another word for "vagina")
