Talk of an Evil Dead reboot and/or fourquel rolls around every couple of years, but it looks like director Sam Raimi is finally ready to consider giving an Evil Dead reboot his full attention.
Raimi’s long-time producing partner Rob Tapert spoke to the Detroit Free Press about the idea, and revealed: “It's possible; we're looking at a script this month.”
The producer goes on to add: “What's interesting about Evil Dead is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theatre...
“I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in gruelling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.”
A reboot of the series will no doubt upset die-hard fans, who've been clamouring for an Evil Dead 4 for years.
We’re sure Raimi can appease them, though, by including a return for cult icon and star of all three Dead films Bruce Campbell as zombie-battling Ash.

How many times does some one have to remind every one that evil dead 2 was a continuation of the same trip to the same cabin in evil dead. I know they shot the recap with a different actress and with out the rest of the group from the original because the a*s hats that owned the rights to evil dead wouldn't let them use footage from the original movie. What I hope is that Bruce Campbell manages to some how make an appearance if the movie is remade, even if he is just the old man at the gas station warning the teens to stay out of the woods.
