Even as he tweets that they've been busy scouting locations, Andrew Stanton has also been gathering more cast members for John Carter Of Mars.

Three British thesps - Samantha Morton, Dominic West and Polly Walker - have all signed on to join a team that already includes Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe.

Morton will play Dafoe's character's daughter Sola, who hides her more gentle side from her war-happy race.

West will go up against Kitsch as Sab Than, a prince who sees ruling the planet as his destiny - and will kill to achieve it.

And finally we have Walker, probably best known for HBO's Rome (but to be seen next year in Clash Of The titans), indulging in her merciless side again to play Sarkoja, an evil tyrant.

Once Stanton's ready, he aims to kick off shooting early next year.
