Saw producer dies

Sudden passing shocks Tinseltown

Gregg Hoffman, producer of the successful Saw horror movies, has died in Hollywood aged just 42.

Hoffman was taken into Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital on Saturday suffering from neck pains and kept in overnight. According to a press release from Lions Gate Entertainment, the producer passed away suddenly on Sunday morning - of natural causes.

Lions Gate have released Hoffman's latest movies, including chop-horror flick Saw II which buzzed its way to the top of the box office in the US only two months ago, netting $85 million since its October release.

“He never put himself in front of anybody. He never did anything for the ego - everything he did was for the betterment of the movie,” said Oren Koules, one of Hoffman's partners at production company Twisted Pictures.
