Despite being shunted to the sidelines for much of Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow will get another chance to shine as a casting call-out has confirmed she will be appearing in Iron Man 3.
Feature Film Casting have put out a new message that reveals a few new details about the film, whilst also confirming Johansson will be returning alongside Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“The storyline is being described by writer-director Shane Black as being a Tom Clancy-thriller,” says the call-out, “with Iron Man fighting real world villains.”

Black is also quoted on what Marvel are looking for him to resolve, after the muted response to Iron Man 2.
“The studio wasn't happy with the result of Iron Man 2,” he said. “That pretty much came about due to a rushed production schedule in an attempt to hit a release date rather than simply make a good film, but I digress. Iron Man 3 will not be another, ‘two men in iron suits fighting each other.’”
Iron Man 3 will open in the UK on 3 May 2013.

Thank goodness - Cap America vs someone injected with super soldier serum, Thor vs another god, Iron Man vs man/men-in-iron-suite(s), Hulk vs hulk-like monsters... Finally someone has come to their senses and realised we don't just want to see the hero fighting... themselves!

I love Shane Black so this sounds great but I must alone in that I find Robert Downey Jnr annoying, Samuel L Jackson phones it in and Scarlet Johansson is hot as hell but about as bland.

How can you go from fighting Lokie and his alien army to real world villains ? This ain't The Dark Knight's universe.

I can't imagine Iron Man fighting real world villains would be good, I mean it works with Batman because he's just a guy fighting but Iron Man has big blasters and a big suit if he shot or hit a real world villain they'd die.

Would be cool if they went down 'The Ultimates' root and the Black Widow turned out to actually be a Russian spy. BTW does anyone else think that Don Cheadle completely stunk out the joint in Iron Man 2?
