Screaming for a Black Christmas

Michelle Trachtenberg to star in horror remake

Michelle Trachtenberg – last seen mastering the art of skating for Disney’s Ice Princess – will need to draw on a previous experience to survive her next film. Best known for her role as Dawn on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Trachtenberg will next be going for horror in the remake of Black Christmas.

Produced by James Wong and Glen Morgan, the creators of Final Destination, the Black Christmas remake will take the basic plot of the 1974 cult original - so expect a killer terrorising a sorority house with menacing phone calls before slaughtering the occupants.

Also on the chopping block are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Katie Cassidy and Oliver Hudson. Morgan is writing and directing the film, which is aiming for a – who’d have guessed? – Christmas release.
