Sean Penn may join Fair Game

He’s negotiating for a role in the Naomi Watts thriller

Sean Penn is considering a part in Fair Game, a drama based on the real-life outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame, which is set to star Naomi Watts.

Watts is already signed to play the lead in the movie, which will be directed by Doug Liman.

Penn’s busy trying to lock down a deal – but of course he now has another Oscar win to bring to the table.

If he signs on, Penn will play Ambassador Joseph Wilson, Plame’s husband, who wrote critical newspaper columns about the Bush administration’s justification for the Iraq War.

In return, Plame’s secret identity was compromised.

A chance to take another dig at Bush and co? How could Penn resist?
