Seann William Scott goes punch-crazy for Goon trailer

Don't make him angry

A new red-band trailer has arrived for Seann William Scott vehicle Goon, and if there was ever a trailer with more punching in it, we’ve yet to see it.

Scott plays a slow-witted but iron-fisted club bouncer who gets plucked from obscurity to become the on-rink hardman for a minor league hockey team. As his coach tells him from the get-go, “you’re not here to play hockey… you’re here to fight.”

Check out the trailer below…

Co-written by Superbad’s Evan Goldberg and Scott’s co-star Jay Baruchel, the film also stars Liev Schreiber as a grizzled ex-pro and Alison Pill as the love-interest with a taste for macho bullshit.

It looks as though this one could be a fairly hit and miss affair, but as a multiplex-pleasing, Friday-night comedy, it looks well capable of getting the job done. That is of course if the world doesn’t fall of its axis at the prospect of Jim’s Dad playing Stifler’s Dad…

The film will arrive in the US on 30 March 2012, with a UK release yet to be confirmed.
