Kevin Smith might think he can't direct action, but he can certainly write it. Take a look at the gallery to your right to see the evidence - the first 5 pages of his Batman comic, Cacophony.

The action-packed opener to Smith's Bat-book sees bullets, blams and blood blazing about all over the place. It's almost enough for us to demand that Kevin Smith take Christopher Nolan's place for The Dark Knight 2. Almost.

But don't expect The Dark Knight to be an influence - Smith finished the first two issues of the three issue run before he saw Nolan's masterpiece.
