Shia LaBeouf Is The Associate

He’ll star in the new John Grisham legal thriller

Shia LaBeouf has nabbed the lead role in Paramount’s new John Grisham adaptation The Associate.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the film, and recruited LaBeouf on the set of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, reports Variety.

The Eagle Eye star will play a Yale Law graduate who is manipulated into taking a job at a big legal firm and slipped insider information about a multibillion-dollar lawsuit.

Back To The Bar

The Associate marks Grisham’s first time dabbling in the legal world since 2005’s The Broker, and – in true Hollywood book-buying style – won’t be published until next month.

There’s no word on a director or writer yet, but given Paramount’s close working relationship with LaBeouf, the studio will get the film on the fast track.
