Sigourney Weaver has revealed that she would still be interested in reprising her most famous role – alien-zapping heroine Ellen Ripley – for another Alien movie.
The actress last played the character in 1997’s Alien Resurrection, a film that was not held in massively high regard by the critics.
Weaver has spoken intermittently over the years about returning for a fifth Alien film that would return to the planet first glimpsed in 1979’s Alien - though that has yet to come to fruition.
“I could definitely kick that alien's ass again,” Weaver says. “While I can't speak for them, I think for [20th Century] Fox, once you're 60, you're not going to be starring in an action movie.
“I think it's too bad that that's the case. I would have liked to do one last story where we go back to the planet, where Ripley's history is resolved. But I do feel like her story is unfinished.”
Weaver is not a part of Ridley Scott’s Alien spin-off Prometheus, which reportedly returns to the planet with the crashed spaceship featured in the first Alien. Which all but renders Weaver's idea for an Alien 5 obsolete...

Love Alien and especially Aliens but i'm not into the idea of alien 5 (plus it would mess up my boxset! lol) but kidding aside i hope they don't make a part 5, i do like the idea of ridley scotts' to make some sort of origin story/prequel but not a continuation of the quadrilogy that started off amazing and ended up ridiculous and terrible.

I would like to see it, if only for Vincent Wards 'wooden world' version...

Alien resurrection did leave us as the ship reached earth and it would have been interesting to finish Ripleys story back home in a post apocalyptic, Alien infested earth. For me, Ripley can be any age, just because she's 60, doesn't mean that no'one will catch her last encounter. As long as the script's there of course.

Looking forward to Prometheus next year, but the idea of a 5th film with Ripley excites me. An alien infested Earth would be a fantastic way to end the series once and for all, maybe even have mankind leave Earth and take to the stars in order to survive? Bleak ending perhaps but it would be awesome to see ...

That´s a pleasant idea Sigourney. One Year before the announcement of Alien3, me and my Co-author had started a draft in which the story of Alien2 continued on Earth. We´ve had stopped to shape it up, as we´ve heard of the Beginning of Pre-Production, but the story was fully developed. It could be easily adapted to Alien4. I wish an other attempt could be true and fundable, my door is always open and it would be a hell of Fun.

No,no,no,no,no,no God no. Here's an idea, Hollywood should come up with something err original? I am sick to death of sequel after prequel after reboot. Just leave them be, move on.
