Simon Pegg starring in Burke And Hare

Playing a corpse-flogging murderer for John Landis

John Landis has tracked down one of the murderers for his pitch-black serial killer comedy Burke And Hare: Simon Pegg.

Yes, Pegg will be swapping his usual likable everyman for a slightly darker - but still comedic - as one of the central pair, according to the team at Dread Central.

Landis is setting the film up based on what became known as the West Port murders, which saw two Irish immigrants slaughter 17 victims in 1827 and 1828.

But in a twist, the pair didn't bury the bodies, but sold them to the Edinburgh Medical College for students to pratice dissection. Clever!

Their story has been filmed before - in 1960 and 1972, plus one that tried to use elements in 1948, but was sliced to ribbons by the BBFC.

But it looks like Landis has found the perfect tone for the new film - and we love the tagline: "No Job Too Small. No Body Too Big. No Questions Asked"...
