Sin City 2 ready to shoot

Funding already in place for comic-book sequel

Robert Rodriguez claims that financing has already been agreed to film Sin City 2

The director wowed comic-book fans by announcing at Comic-Con that Frank Miller has written a script that "could shoot as early as later this year."

Talking to We Got This Covered in San Diego, Rodriguez added that the money is also now in place.

"Sin City 2 is going good, we're just finishing the script for that, we already got the money. We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages,” We Got This Covered reported.

The sequel is expected to be based on Miller's comic book A Dame To Kill For, which features the characters of Marv and Nancy and could see Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba return.

Were you bowled over when Miller's comic-book world first hit the screens in Sin City? Ready for more of Marv and Nancy? Or looking for a film that, just for once, isn't based on a comic? Have your say below!

Hooray. Also, with such tight schedule, I guess, there is no time for 3D (or 4D, althought, I wouldn't say no to smelling burnt human flesh during execution scene, he-he) which is awesome, double time

"A Dame To Kill For" was the first of Miller's Sin City stories I read and it was an amazing introduction into his comic book noir world. So excited to see this finally starting to come together, cannot wait for this follow up and yes please, leave the 3D out of it, just give us more of the same (visually) that we enjoyed back in 2005 ... crikey, that long ago?

The momentum has vanished, too much procrastinating from Rob.
