Singleton takes the wheel

Can Convoy bring Four Brothers team back together?

After a successful summer at the box office, Doom producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is already looking past his Michael Bay helmed robot riot Transformers by readying the buddy-trucker flick Convoy.

Di Bonaventura Pictures also wrote the cheques for Mark Wahlberg crime-drama Four Brothers, which hauled in $85 million at the box office, earning the movie a ‘sleeper hit’ rosette.

The man behind the lens on Four Brothers, Boyz N The Hood helmer John Singleton, is favourite to call the shots on Convoy. The movie follows a group of US truck drivers who sign up for a year of truckin’ across the Afghan war zone.

The script was written by relative newbies Matthew Holloway and Arthur Marcum who penned the 2004 James Spader thriller Shadow Of Fear.
