Smith signs on for Greenbacks

Big Willie set for actioner in Morocco

Having recently been linked to rival-dads-do-battle comedy Time Share with Nic Cage, Will Smith has kept up his trend of following a rib-tickler with a pot-boiler and has signed to star in Greenbacks.

The action is set in Morocco and sees the Fresh Prince playing an ex-pat who sniffs out an organisation planning to balls up the world financial markets by pumping perfect counterfeit cash into circulation.

Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment partner James Lassiter will produce for 20th Century Fox. The script will be penned from a pitch by Doug Cook and David Weisberg, whose previous scribblings include Double Jeopardy and The Rock.
