Sony Co-Chairman hints at Spider-Man spin-offs

Could Venom be first in line?

With two sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man already in the pipeline, it’s clear that Sony is keen to maximise the rights to the friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler.

However, those films may only be the start of it, with Sony Co-Chairman Amy Pascal revealing to investors that a series of spin-off projects may soon be on the horizon.

“We are going to access Marvel’s full world of Spider-Man characters,” said Pascal, “so be on the lookout for new heroes and villains.”

A spin-off film starring the alien symbiote Venom has long been mooted, making him a prime candidate for one of the projects Pascal is hinting at. Black Cat could also be an option, with the character set to be introduced through the main series of films.

In the meantime, fans have The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to look forward to, with that film set to swing into UK cinemas on 18 April 2014.

Make a Black Cat movie and beat Marvel and DC to releasing the first female superhero flick.

As much as I would Love a BlackCat film, I can't stop thinking about Catwoman, Yes Berry was great to look at but the story sucked, and I'm not going to be the only one thinking this if/when they hear about another Cat Related Flick. And Ali1748 It would not surprise me if Mrs Marvel is set as one for these mystery Phase Three Film, surly a Female Solo outing is getting closer

Pretty sure 2004's Catwoman is classed as a female superhero flick @Ali1748, so maybe you mean the first female superhero flick that is actually any good (lol) I think Ms Marvel (or her current incarnation as Captain Marvel) will be part of either Phase 3 or Phase 4 for Marvel's line-up - they have plans up to and including Avengers 4 in 2021, so I wouldn't put it past them to have already considered this

OK, enough with the superhero spin-offs!!!! Marvel (Studios) got there first with the Avengers and it was something exciting and fresh, tying in all the singular superhero movies. Then it was DC jumping on the same idea and now its these tards. Sick of it.

lol I meant the first female comic solo outing from this new batch of movies. Berry's Catwoman doesn't exist, it was a bad dream!
