Sony wants to go on and on with franchise...

Yes, take your jaws from the floor, we know it’s shocking, but with Spider-Man 3 looking set to do better business than the previous two combined, Sony execs have announced they’re going to make more.

Sony Pictures exec Michael Lynton has told the BBC that the studio "Has every intention of making a fourth, a fifth and a sixth and on and on."

“When everybody comes up for air, we can think about how to make the next one"

And he’s got his own thoughts on why Spidey 3 has made so many mountains of cash: "I think it had a lot to do with timing - the fact we were the first out in the summer. I think it had to do with the fact that the movie had a universal appeal, it had a broader appeal than the second movie, it attracted a family audience and brought the family audience back."
