Steve Carell may get Dumped

A new comedy being developed

Warners has picked up the rights to the comedy Dumped, and is hoping that Steve Carell will agree to star.

Based on a novel by Andrew Gottlieb, Dumped finds a man searching for new meaning in his life when his wife suddenly files for divorce.

Vic Levin is assigned to adapt the book, and Carell has agreed to produce the film.

But it’ll have to join the crowd of films jostling for the star’s attention during his downtime from The Office. He’s also working on Hi-T, a comedy about a man who takes testosterone after an injury, only to discover it gives him massive mood swings.

Honestly, Dumped sounds a little too safe and dull for Carell – though he did make Dan In Real Life (above) work okay…
