Steven Soderbergh pondering Moneyball

A likely reunion with Brad Pitt

Steven Soderbergh’s shuffling his schedule about again  - and his next film may well be Brad Pitt-starring sports drama Moneyball.

According to Variety, he’s always harboured a dream of making something sports-related, and Moneyball would give him the chance to work with one of the Ocean’s team again.

Pitt’s been attached to Moneyball – the real-life tale of a baseball manager who used computer analysis to build a trophy-contending team despite a chronically low budget – since last year.

With a script penned by Steven Zaillian, the film had been handed to Marley & Me’s David Frankel as a possible directing job. Now it looks like Soderbergh’s the man.
