Sucker Punch gets new trailer

Dialogue-free promo hits the web

Sucker Punch is only a month away from release, and this morning the internet was gifted a new trailer for Zack Snyder's latest.

The action fantasy is Snyder's love poem to teenage girls with machine guns, slo-mo, Alice In Wonderland and Warhammer (no, really), and this latest trailer is exactly what we've come to expect from the director.

Set to the tones of "Panic Switch" by rock band Silversun Pickups, the trailer is reminiscant of the the first Watchmen promo, though the Pickups' effort is no Smashing Pumpkins.

For detractors, it's more visually polished but substance-lacking CGI-porn, for supporters, this is another example of Snyder's breathtakingly stylistic brand of storytelling.

Here's the trailer;

Well there you have it.

For those not in the loop, Sucker Punch tells the tale of Baby Doll, institutionalised by her stepfather and days away from a lobotomy, she recedes into a fantasy world to find a way to escape her fate.

With Snyder in the director's seat for Superman: Man Of Steel, industry insiders, fanboys and the general public alike will be watching with baited breath come opening weekend.

Sucker Punch is released April 1 2011.

      This looks like such trash. A Twelve year old boys wet dream; i despise Snyder, he' s yet to make a good film. I hope his career crashes and burns.

      Have to agree with @SmeefLikeBeef. This looks like the biggest pile of s**t going. Snyder hasn't got and ounce of talent and he's going to bury Superman.

      Who let The Guardian Readers in? Cinema is about entertainment and escapism, it was designed with 12 yr old boys and teenagers in mind. I'm sure theres some 3 hour French film about some upset middle-class teachers you can find and 'enjoy'.

      I don't think cinema was designed for 12 year old boys and teenagers. And I love these sort of films, when there not directed by a amoeba. Oh and I don't read The Guardian. I read the Mail.......... cause it's f*****g hilarious.

      try to enjoy movies for entertainment value rather than burying what looks like an awesome movie based on a 90 second the way snyder cant do any worse than the previous attempts at superman...i for one welcome the revolution

      End of the day it's all down to different tastes. You think it's an awesome 90 second trailer and other people, including myself, think it's a rather tedious boring 90 second trailer. Those who like it won't change the other's opionion. And personally I thought Richard Donner's attempt at Superman was pretty damn spot on.

      @Hadouken76 More like who let "Sight & Sound" readers in... I don't care what anyone else says, I'm looking forward to it when it's released in 3wks time. Going by the strength of Snyder's previous work, I think this is going to be trashy fun; those of you making snobby comments - what are you expecting, another "Inception"? Also, I don't think Snyder's going to f**k Superman up, not with Christopher Nolan producing as well...I think they would do a really good reboot. I can't be any more snore-worthy than "Returns".
