Surf's up for Point Break Indo

Jan de Bont’s making the cop sequel

Woah… Someone needs to tell PC Danny Butterman to go and camp outside Sanford’s local fleapit: Point Break is back.

Jan de Bont has announced at Cannes that he’s officially taking the helm of sequel Point Break Indo, penned by the first film’s writer, W Peter Iliff.

Variety reports that the new film will take up the story in Indonesia and Singapore 20 years after Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) vanished in Kathryn Bigelow’s original. It’s unlikely that either Swayze or Keanu Reeves will be involved, but the producers do say that “major stars” have been approached.

But there’s more: little hand says it’s time to rock and roll, as IESB.net has found a proper plot synopsis for the film. Head to their site for more…
