Sydney Pollack has died of cancer. He was 73. The Oscar winning director is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca Pollack and Rachel Pollack, and his wife, Claire Griswold.
Pollack will probably be best remembered for Tootsie, the heart-warming highlight of an outstanding career which included a best director Oscar for Out Of Africa and nominations for They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? and Tootsie.
