Sly Stallone appears to have taken a break from scribbling Expendables 2 in order to take the lead role in new action thriller Headshot.
Written by The Messenger’s Alessandro Camon and with The Cooler director Wayne Kramer at the helm, Stallone will play a hitman working in New Orleans who joins forces with a young detective.
Together, they delve into an investigation that takes them from New Orleans alleyways to the corridors of Washington, DC.
Most intriguing here is that the script comes from Camon, whose The Messenger was a heartfelt, mostly serious-as-the-grave drama about the Iraq war.
Could Stallone be starring in an action film that actually boasts a little grey matter? Camon’s involvement certainly seems to suggest it.
Shooting on Headshot commences this May in Louisiana and New York.
