The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will feature Ravencroft Institute

Mark Webb teases another plot point

Mark Webb’s latest tweet from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has teased a famous location from the comic books in the form of Ravencroft Institute For The Criminally Insane.
The institute can be seen as Marvel’s equivalent of Arkham Asylum, and has played host to all manner of Spidey foes, from Carnage to the Jackal.
We can probably take a good guess as to who we’ll find housed there in the sequel, particularly given the reference to “voltage cells” on the direction board. Sounds like the kind of place where Electro might hang, no?
Whether any more famous wrong’uns will be making an appearance remains to be seen, although Paul Giamatti’s Rhino might be another to find himself languishing in a padded cell.

Directed by Webb and co-starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.

Are you excited to see what goes on at Ravencroft? Tell us, below!

this might be how they introduce Rhino... as an existing "freak" that escapes - could this also be where Connors is being kept ...

This is good if they are planning to build a Sinister Six, if however its just gonna be where villains are, it could go bad, one of the things I enjoyed from the last Spider Man series, was that all the villains (except Sandman) had cool deaths. I could imagine a sympathetic character like how Jamie Foxx will be with Electro, having a really epic death

I wouldn't call a guy screaming "NOOOOOOO" and running into some black goo cool.

Also, Spider-man villains very rarely die, it's part of this responsibility not to hurt anyone ... which doesn't really happen...

I'm fed up with sympathetic Spider-Man villains. I want an evil bad a*s who is actually just really, really loving being nasty and doesn't have a last minute redemption.
