The Amazing Spider-Man nets a new teaser poster and logo

Intriguing one-sheet for the reboot

The Amazing Spider-Man has been gifted a new teaser poster, which shows off its official logo.

We've had a couple of neat images of of Andrew Garfield as the rebooted webslinger, but this is the first official promo material that's been released for the movie (from Shockya via FirstShowing).

The logo does the job well enough, but it's not quite up there with the iconic lettering of Sam Raimi's original trilogy.

While the logo is the focal point of the teaser poster, the compelling background will no doubt be put under microscopic scrutiny by rabid fanboys.

It looks like it could be Spidey's tough new suit, but there's the merest hint of washed out red and blue in the dark colour palette.

There also could be a scaly echo of Rhys Ifans' Lizard in the texture, although maybe that's just overthinking things a bit.

Whatever that backdrop is, it looks like it's taken some damage…

You can see the logo above, and here's that teaser poster:

One thing's for certain, it's made us even more keen to see a trailer.

The Amazing Spider-Man will be released 4 July 2012.

Reckon this is a sign of dark things to come for the reboot? Liking the teaser poster? Tell us!

It's a bit boring, can't wait for a trailer though!! What's less boring is that in the Web of Spider-man run (1986), Spidey came to Belfast and London and fought the IRA - http://chriswrites.net/2011/05/03/spider-man-takes-on-the-ira/ Not a lot of people know that.

Seriously are you guys taking the pistachio? it's got a hyphen which could be ok but it says IN JULY 3 - has to be fake or someones getting their pink slip tomorrow - it's hideously lazy

I have to admit, I do like the poster, the colour is nice and the tone feels very different to the Sam Raimi films, making it feel a little less redundant. Not a huge fan of the logo, but I'm intrigued. The Spider-man reboot will have to be really different to the previous effort to make it worth watching, otherwise people will feel cheated. Maybe they'll pull it off...

TOTAL FILM, TAKE THIS DOWN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. It's immensly fake. It has to be. I've actually registered just so i could comment here... 1. It says MARVEL STUDIOS, where as this is NOT a marvel studios production, Spider-Man currently belongs to Sony Columbia. 2. "In July 3" Really guys? REALLY?? 3. The site you linked to says in the description the movie is written by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Come. On. Please take it down. ASAP. But hey, maybe I'm utterly wrong and it is a genuine (albeit utter c**p) poster. Then I will apologise. BUT REALLY?!?! COME ON!!

Ha Odinson - I registered too just to give out but decided to take the less heavy handed route - fair play - it had to be said :)

This is looking dodgy. Let's count the ways: 1. Marvel Studios billed over the top of a Sony production 2. "IN JULY 3"? 3. "For future info fo to filmratings.com". Second typo. 4. "In selected theatres". Why are they using the British spelling of "theatre" instead of the American "theater"? If this isn't fake it's sloppy as hell. How did you guys not spot all of this?

Brilliant, not only have Total Film been taken in by a fake, they've been taken in by a poster clearly faked by an idiot.

@magicwings I know right? GO google! And wikipedia a.k.a THE MOST reliable source on the internet! Once you get disproved by wikipedia it's time to BACK THE EFF DOWN! ha seriously though, now that I've calmed down a bit....okay look. You're probably right and in that case i was wrong...i just find it very hard to have a marvel studios label over a film that isn't set in the marvel cinematic universe (IM, IM2, TIH, Thor, etc) two things making me think this is the real poster...this article, and the ones on the other sites, are still here. AND this really interesting look at the same poster when it's brightened up (blood marks & green scales): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4049423/SpidermanBrighter.jpg

What the hell does "In July...." mean???????????? Please!!!! What does it mean????? I really want to know!!! This is as fake as Vinnie Jones' Irish/Slovakian accent in Kill The Irishman. If this poster is real...It's just plain awful.

I really doubt the authenticity of this, do you really think Zack Snyder and Chris Nolan would be behind such a dull, uninteresting poster?
