The Anderson Tapes remake is planned

Classic film re-spooling...

Sydney Lumet’s 1971 thriller The Anderson Tapes found Shir Shean Connery as a former prisoner plotting to rob a high-rise New York apartment building. Sadly for him, he doesn’t realise that he’s under constant surveillance.

Producer Arthur Sarkissian – one of the people inflicting Rush Hour 3 on us all – has used his own cash to nab the rights to Lawrence Sanders’ original novel, which was the source material for the Lumet movie. He’s also putting up the money to develop it, planning to update the tale and shift the setting to the flashy venue of Miami.

"Surveillance has changed and gotten more interesting, and the story is just as topical as it was then," Sarkissian blabbed to Variety. Let’s hope no one tells him about Enemy Of The State, then…

Hint: The film starred Michael J Fox as accidental time traveller Marty McFly.
