The Dark Knight gets some awards love

Producer’s Guild nominations include Batman

The Producers Guild Of America has announced its nominations for the year.

And The Dark Knight has scored a best picture nod despite being shut out in the category for many of the other awards this year.

It’ll jostle for votes alongside The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire, Milk and Frost/Nixon.

Best Picture indicator?

Meanwhile, the documentary features to nab a nomination include Man On Wire, Standard Operating Procedures and Trouble In The Water. We’re rooting for Man On Wire, which is ace.

In the animated category, Wall-E will battle it out with Bolt and Kung Fu Panda.

According to The LA Times, PGA’s Darryl F Zanuck Producer of the Year Award has become one of the more reliable Best Picture Oscar indicators in recent years, with winners including last year’s No Country For Old Men going on to score Oscar gold.

I watched Wall-E again the other day. I think it should get loads of awards. Not just Best Animated picture, but Best Picture. Yes, over The Dark Knight! That's right, I went there. Come get me, Fan Boys!
