The Howling will be rebooted

Are werewolves the new vampires?

Following New Moon’s entirely predictable success at the box office - in case you haven’t heard, it grossed $140.7 million this weekend, making it the third highest grossing opening of all time - it appears that werewolves could be making a comeback.

The Wolfman’s been ready to attack for a while, and now marketing exec Joe Nimziki is turning auteur to bring us a Howling reboot.

Nimziki will be directing his own script, which may or may not follow the plot of the original.

Joe Dante’s Howling saw Dee Wallace’s newswoman  Karen White being sent to a weird rehabilitation centre after being attacked by a unusually hirsute serial killer.

We imagine Nimziki is currently drafting a few topless hunky teens into his script, in preparation for a February shoot targeting a Halloween release.

Sigh ... another day, another pointless horror remake. I can't even summon the will to be outraged anymore. At least the success of Twilight put a stop to the Near Dark remake.

GET A GRIP POINTLESS REMAKE, THE HOWLING WAS NO CLASSIC BY A LONG SHOT, THIS COULD BE GOOD BUT WITH THE WOLFMAN AND A AMERICAN WEREWOLF REMAKE ON THE CARDS , IT WILL STILL PLAY SECOND FIDDLE, SPEAKING OF WEREWOLVES WHAT HAPPENED TO DOG SOLDIERS 2 ?

Well, The Howling just happens to be one of my favourite horror films, and I believe that remakes are almost always pointless, so we'll just have to agree to disagree. As for getting a grip, I'm not the one who left my caps lock button on, thereby giving my post the look of a mean-spirited and shouty tirade. So, with all due respect, up yours.
