The Rock talks Fast Five sequels

Six and seven won't shoot back-to-back

After Justin Lin’s kinetic Fast Five successfully gave the Fast and Furious franchise a much-needed tune-up, it’s no surprise to hear that two more sequels have been greenlit by Universal.

Initially, the plans were for Lin to film parts six and seven back-to-back, but according to Dwayne Johnson, the schedule has now changed.

“I don’t think we’re going to shoot them back-to-back,” he told MTV. “We were going to try that because it wouldn’t make sense to have the same crew and have everybody there in one place [and not try it], but I think we’re dealing with some weather issues, so from what I know we’re going to shoot Fast Six first and then worry about Fast Seven a little later.”

Those weather issues might have something to do with the next film’s location, which is set to be a little less sun-kissed than Fast Five’s Rio shoot…

“We’re going to be in the UK, we’re going to be in Germany, from what I know,” continued Johnson. “That’s the early talk. And we’re going to start shooting in May.”

Fast Six is pencilled in to open in the UK on 24 May 2013.

I am actually quite looking forward to Fast Six. I was genuinely surprised that Fast Five was as good as it was (considering its franchise roots) and the addition of Johnson certainly increased the dynamic of the cast. Justin Lin for the WIN!

The rock talks s**t pick some decent movie roles and become the the most electrifying action star in hollywood you were meant to be almost 10 years ago!!!!! And that's the bottom line because nacho 316 says so ;) Personally I think he should team up with the statham for a flick and see where it goes from there ;)

Actually Faster was pretty decent, a 70s throwback revenge movie with Johnson on the rampage as an avenging angel. Good soundtrack too. Yeah Fast Five was above-average OTT no-brain fodder, will watch the sequels.
