The Time Traveller's Wife delayed by a rewrite

Bruce Joel Rubin has been handed the script to polish

We could be waiting a little longer for the film adaptation of beloved novel The Time Traveller’s Wife.

Robert Schwentke, last seen at the helm of Jodie Foster’s airborne thriller Flightplan, is in the director’s chair, but the movie has been waiting for the script to be completed before tracking down a cast. Rachel McAdams is the name most strongly connected with it, but now it looks like the script – in true Hollywood fashion – needs some work.

Bruce Joel Rubin - who wrote Ghost (hooray!) and Stuart Little 2 (er…) - has been assigned to do some re-scripting before production gets underway. Though we bet he’s still working on it as the cameras roll…
