Vampire tale Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (to give it its full, somewhat ungainly new title) has been delayed for a while, but finally looks like it'll arrive later this year - and the first trailer is online.
The plot tells the story of a lad named Darren Shan (Chris Massoglia) who meets the mysterious Larten Crepsley (John C Reilly) at a freak show.
When he learns that Crepsley is a vampire - and is offered the chance to become one himself, Shan, sick of his boring regular life, accepts and everything changes.
We'll a little mixed on this one - Reilly's good value, but it might be a little too silly for our taste. Still, take a look at the trailer below and judge for yourself.

I think I'm gunna cry! How can they do this to Darren Shan!! Those books were the consolation of my early teens and now they give Larten Crepsley to John C Reilly! No. Just NO. I sincerely hope the trailer is misleading, or else they've got it all WRONG! ARGH!
Please God don't let this be another Eragon, or Alex Rider!

and why did they cram the first three books into one film????
and i dont remember any of the books being funny
they were really dark and sad
