The Wolf Man director quits

Hair-raising times for Benicio del Toro's horror

And it was all going so well… Despite whispers of tension behind the scenes, Universal’s new version of hairy horror The Wolf Man was all set to start shooting in February.

But now the studio finds itself clawing around to find a new director as One Hour Photo helmer Mark Romanek has left the project, citing those good, old-fashioned "creative differences".

Which means that despite boasting a cast loaded with Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt, The Wolf Man needs a megaphone-man if it’s to get started anywhere near on time. Dammit.

Variety has more howling details.
