The Wolverine on-set video released: watch now

Check out filming on the upcoming sequel

We never thought we’d see this day arrive, but the cameras have finally started rolling on The Wolverine after years of setbacks and false-starts.

Hugh Jackman tweeted the good news, posting: “We're on day 1 of shooting. Wolverine is back... feel so pumped about this one... never felt so ready!!!! will keep y’all posted!!!”

Shooting is currently taking place in Kurnell, where a beach has been made to look like a Japanese prisoner of war camp.

Australia’s 7News managed to get a glimpse of the filming. Watch their report below…

The Wolverine sees the eponymous claw-wielder falling in love with a Japanese woman who’s already been promised to another man.

With Logan refusing to give up on love, he battles the Silver Samurai to win her hand.

The Wolverine
opens in cinemas on 26 July 2013.

I didn't actually mind X-Men Origins: Wolverine (liked the film more than the f-ing title). They just tried to cram too many idea in there but the action was good and Liev Schrieber was a great Sabretooth. For some reason find it hard to get excited about this though. Perhaps because a key element in the first 2 X-Men films was the Logan-Scott-Jean love triangle. Or perhaps because Jackman will look 12 years older than the first X-Men which is set 30 odd years after this one. In Hollywood years, any other role would have been recast 3 times by now!!

They have to get this one right, the fanboys will murder Jackman and co if they mess up the Wolverine's time in Japan storyline's (they are the most interesting in my opinion) maybe they should CGI him to the correct height of 5"3..... Actually it’s far too late after him appearing in 5 earlier films.
