Third Men In Black on the fast track?

Sony exec says they’re working on it…

Looks like Sony is going back to the Men In Black well – seven years after the last franchise entry.

Speaking at this year’s ShoWest convention, Sony’s President of Worldwide Distribution, Rory Bruer told cinema chain owners that the company was busy developing a third outing for agents K and J – or at least another adventure set in the Men In Black universe.

No other details were given, so we don’t know if stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones or director Barry Sonnenfeld will return.  But we’d guess the studio will be drawing up those cash-laden contracts to tempt them all back.

And while the date is nowhere near set in stone, Bruer mentioned 2011 as a possible release date. So they need to get that puppy moving.

But we'd like to take this opportunity to bed and plead for this one to be better than the patchy MIB II.

Between this, Spider-Man 4 and Ghostbusters 3, it would appear that Sony is going sequel crazy in the next few years. So, business as usual, then…

I'm excited as long as its better written than the second one. Maybe they should just start all over again though.

"But we'd like to take this opportunity to bed and plead for this one to be better than the patchy MIB II." I take it you mean beg not bed? Or were you distracted by the ravishing Lara Flynn Boyle?!
