Tim Roth & John Simm to star in Skellig

Made-for-TV movie to hit the big screen next year

Sky One is developing a real habit for creating TV movies that end up on the big screen.

The company’s latest production is Skellig, adapted from David Almond’s novel and tells the story of a young lad who discovers a strange, possibly angelic creature in the garage of his new home. He nurses the beast back to health with booze and Chinese food (and why not?) and discovers the magical powers it possesses.

Tim Roth has signed on for the lead role, reports Variety, with John Simm and Kelly MacDonald also busy filming in Cardiff. The film will first appear on Sky One next spring before arriving in cinemas shortly afterwards.
