Todd Field has signed on to direct the crime drama Buried for Paramount Vantage.
The plot, says The Hollywood Reporter, focuses on a couple that bury a wealthy man alive in an attempt to extort cash from him. But then they get caught and have to deal with the circumstances.
Field’s last directing job was Little Children, which starred Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. Buried, meanwhile, doesn’t have a cast yet, but will feature a script written by Brad Ingelsby.
Busy writer
Inglesby’s a busy man – he’s already attached to write The Low Dweller for Ridley Scott and Sleeper for Sam Raimi.
Still, Field has time to wait – he’s still got the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian on his schedule.
