Tom Hanks reveals there could be a Toy Story 4

“I think they’re working on it now,” actor says

Pixar may have appeared to bid farewell to Woody, Buzz and co in Toy Story 3, but according to star Tom Hanks, their adventures could be far from over.

While out promoting his new film Larry Crowne, Hanks was asked if he thought there could be a Toy Story 4 in the pipeline, to which the actor answered:

“I think there will be yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think they’re working on it now. There you go.”

That’s not massively surprising when you consider that Toy Story 3 tapped $1bn in worldwide ticket sales. But it is surprising considering how much of a trilogy closer the third film was.

While we love the Toy Story trilogy as it is, the thought of another feature length movie with Woody and co has us as excited as little green aliens hopped up on caffeine.

Now let's see if Pixar follows Hanks' apparent slip-up with an official announcement...

Toy Story 3 seemed pretty final and a great conclusion to a great trilogy. I knew Pixar couldn't leave it there though but I only expected them to revisit the franchise in short films. I'm not sure how another feature length would work but I'm interested.

The thing is that they'll probably do a damned fine job of it, even if it is slightly unnecessary. Kind of sitting on the fence on this one

Horrible decision, Pixard have the chance to end it perfectly with the 3rd movie. But of course money talks.

As long as it's good then I'm in. I'd rather seen another good Toy Story and Pixar use the massive profits to invest in other stand-alone strange/weird/out-there stories that may not make big box office, than have to sit through flippin' CARS 2! Talk about cashing in. Cars 2 is a hit at the box office because it's Pixar and follows after Toy Story 3; basically success by osmosis. In fact the best thing about Cars 2 was the short before, Toy Story: Hawaiian Vacation.
