Tom Hiddleston praises Thor: The Dark World as “truly fantastic”

“We are making an amazing film”

Filming onThor: The Dark Worldwrapped just before Christmas, and Tom Hiddleston has wasted no time in singing the sequel’s praises.

“It’s fantastic, truly,” he tells the Press Association. “We are making an amazing film, and we’re having a wonderful time.”

Returning as malicious god Loki, the brother of Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hiddleston went on to praise director Alan Taylor (best known for Game Of Thrones) for "deepening" Thor's world.

“It's so exciting to have established characters and an established setting in the world, and we are working so hard to cook up something new,” he says.

“That is what is exciting me - taking what we know, taking what we love and deepening it and giving it an extra dimension.

“I think director Alan Taylor is really shaping up the world of Asgard and the world of these characters.”

In Thor: The Dark World, the titular Thunder God must fight against a primeval race led by Christopher Eccleston’s Malekith the Accursed.

It will also see the return of Natalie Portman as Thor’s love interest, Jane Foster, as well as Stellan Skarsgård and Kat Dennings as her fellow scientists.

Thor: The Dark World opens on 30 October 2013.

I wish they could just ditch Portman in favor of Dennings as she's got a build more fit for a Viking god like Thor.

Not to sound cruel but they could ditch both Portman and Dennings. I though they were boring.

Gotta agree with Kaiser here. I wished they'd have picked someone else instead of Portman, and Dennings just makes my eyes roll.

I wish they'd just ditch Midgard all together and have Thor only visit in Avengers films. Anyhow, I knew getting Alan Taylor to direct was a good idea, what he's done with GoT is excellent.

FBJ I agree about leaving Midgard to Thor's Avengers outings, those scenes in Thor 1 were the weakest IMO.

I generally like Portman, but she was the weakest thing in the first movie. She was too soppy, making dreamy eyes at Hemsworth. They should have ditched her from the sequel!
