Tommy Lee Jones directing The Lincoln Lawyer

Matthew McConaughey is starring

It's not the all-star team-up one might think of, but Tommy Lee Jones and Matthew McConaughey are collaborating on The Lincoln Lawyer.

McConaughey has signed on to star as the titular lawyer, Mickey Haller, who works out of his Lincoln car.

He's happy with his laid-back lifestyle and small cases (sounds perfect for McConaughey) but suddenly gets a big break: defending a Hollywood playboy accused of murder.

John Romano has adapted the script from Michael Connelly's 2005 book.

Jones, meanwhile, is in negotiations to direct the film, and take a co-starring role, though that isn't known yet - the playboy character is probably too young for him. Maybe he could play a cranky judge?
