Two new X-Men: First Class Posters arrive online

Matthew Vaughn's mutants stroll awkwardly...

X-Men: First Class hasn't had the greatest track record for promo art.

First off, an unofficial group shot was leaked before it was ready, leading to fanboy uproar and studio disgruntlement.

Those were followed by some fantastically moody posters for Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), with subtle hints at their characters' futures.

That good work was then undone by the 'floating heads over silhouettes' travesty, which looked like they were done as some sort of primary school art project.

The new posters occupy the middle area between the previous highs and lows of X-promos. They're not as ghastly as the the dreaded 'silhouettes', but they're still fairly bland.

Check them out for yourself here:

Why do the mutants seem to have such a problem with walking naturally? Reservoir Dogs they ain't!

If it wasn't for the very promising trailer, and the dream team of talent involved, you could be forgiven for being a little nervous about the comic-book prequel.

X-Men: First Class opens on 2 June 2011.

Do you like these new one-sheets? Or does a project as cool as First Class deserve better? Comment below...

First Poster : They couldn't make a better poster than the previous X men movies ??? .. The size of the heads with their bodies are not perfect and the places where two bodies are on each other is just show how much unprofessional this poster is ... !!! Even the reflection in the ground are all in half and it is not good too .... I was waiting for more powerful posters to come .. Disappointed .. Second Poster : Better but still not a great one ..

Wow even i can do a better job, well at least use different shots of each chracter in the poster to make it a but different. But in reality these poster are exactly the same, same background except one has a ship, same images of the characters just moved around and well its just so dull and boring how is this going to make me want to go and see it? very disappointed

They should of gone for suggestion rather than bad photo-shop a la 'Takers' .. Theres no Wolverine to give the cool slash marks...even ' Last Stand' had just a big 'X' against his claws. Simple but effective.

Shocking. Can't help but feel the film will go the same way.

Why aren't the two African Americans mutants in both posters? Stan Lee created XMen because of racism and all these years later it is evident in the posters created...smh!
