Uma Thurman is a nanny

In kids’ book adaptation Eloise In Paris

Nannies have a proud tradition in cinematic history – including such notables as Mary Poppins and Billie Whitelaw’s caring, sharing Mrs Baylock in The Omen.

Now Uma Thurman is joining the noble profession for Eloise In Paris, which is tearing its source material from Kay Thompson’s book. Alfie revamp director Charles Shyer is directing the tale of a precocious girl who has all sorts of misadventures around the French capital. Well, we assume. We haven’t read it.

Variety says that the producers are looking to spawn a franchise, and are already preparing a follow-up. Looks like no one has yet learned the Nancy Drew lesson…
